About Tinker Knitwear

Tinker Knitwear is a small (we prefer the term “boutique”) family-owned company started by Michael and Pamela Caird in New York in 2003. We’ve since moved to California and operate out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our last name, Caird, is Scottish Gaelic for Tinker, so of course that’s what we named the company.

Tinker Knitwear both manufactures and sells fine knitwear, specializing in cashmere. Our mission is to provide the finest-quality knitwear you’ll find anywhere in the world. We use only the best Scottish-spun cashmere yarn and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. Why?
